Design your own lamp
Harvested sustainably from forests above 800m. Dried slowly in the mountain air before weaving — giving each strand its characteristic golden tone.
Split and cured by hand. Bamboo from Chiang Mai's highlands is denser and more flexible than lowland varieties — it holds its shape for decades.
Woven rattan and bamboo create a texture of light and shadow that changes through the day. No two lamps are identical — each carries the hand of its maker.

The craft
"We let the rattan dry slowly in mountain air before weaving — the light it makes is warmer for it."
Our weavers are families in the villages outside Chiang Mai who have worked rattan and bamboo for generations. Most learned the craft from their parents — and their parents' parents.
Each lamp takes two to four days to complete. We never rush the process. When you light one of our lamps for the first time, you are connecting with that tradition.

About us
Chiang Mai Craft House was founded in 2026 by Khun John and Khun Alice — a founder and designer who shared a belief that the best objects are made slowly, with full attention.
We work directly with artisan families in the villages of San Kamphaeng and Ban Tawai — paying above-market rates, visiting regularly, and refusing to rush production to meet demand.
